Hoku’s connector lets an AI assistant (Muse, Claude and others) see your trips, check who’s in, RSVP, add plans and look at shared expenses. It only ever sees trips you belong to.

Connection details

  • MCP server URL: https://app.hoku.travel/mcp (Streamable HTTP)
  • Authentication: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration
    • Authorization server metadata: https://app.hoku.travel/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server
    • Protected resource metadata: https://app.hoku.travel/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource
  • Access tokens last 1 hour. Refresh tokens last 90 days and rotate on each use.
  • Alternative: a personal access token from Settings → AI connections in the Hoku app, sent as Authorization: Bearer <token>.

Scopes

  • trips:read: list trips, view itineraries, see who’s in, view expenses
  • trips:write: RSVP, add activities, create trips

list_trips Your trips, newest first (up to 50), with dates, member count, your RSVP and the headcount read
get_trip One trip’s day-by-day itinerary: activities with times, address, notes and type, plus unscheduled ideas read
whos_in Members with their RSVP (in, maybe, out, undecided) and counts read
list_expenses Shared expenses and each member’s balance read
rsvp Set your own RSVP: in, maybe or out write
add_activity Add an activity to a trip day, or leave it unscheduled. You must be an owner or editor of the trip. write
create_trip Create a private trip with one day per date, and return its link write

Requirements

A free Hoku account. No plan or regional limits.

Privacy and control

  • The connector acts as you and sees only trips you’re a member of.
  • It can’t delete anything, change other people’s RSVPs or send messages.
  • Disconnect any time in Settings → AI connections. For OAuth apps, revoking access in the assistant also works.
